Job Description:

The City of Overland Park has a part-time Benefits and Retirement Plan Assistant position available in the Human Resources Department. Responsibilities: Provides administrative support in the Benefits Division.  Maintains all administrative aspects of the City’s retirement plans including data entry in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), bi-weekly investment of contributions and participant education.  Performs new employee, first-day orientations with regards to retirement benefits.  Assists the Benefits Coordinator with the day-to-day administration of the City’s insurance benefits. Reconciles and requests remittances of premiums for all City insurance benefits. Develops, publicizes, and schedules retirement/financial-planning classes offered to employees. Presentation of the MEPP retirement plan review and assists with the administration of benefits programs. 

8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.  8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., Friday. $16.00-$18.00/hr.   Open until filled. Job Requirements:
Requirements:  Associate’s degree in accounting, business administration or a related field of study or an equivalent combination of formal education and work experience.  Two years of administrative office experience in human resources or an equivalent level of experience.  Three years of defined benefit and defined contribution plans as well as deferred compensation plans, or an equivalent level of experience.   Experience working with KPERS or a state retirement system preferred. No City residency requirement. Must successfully pass a background check, drug screen, and physical exam.
