Since 2005, the firm has developed 51 properties which include 4,600 multifamily units of affordable and workforce housing in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.

Position Overview

The Construction Site Superintendent is responsible for leadership on the construction site and making sure that all work performed is consistent with approved drawings, specs, and OSHA safety standards.

Core Responsibilities:

Schedule all job site inspections as required.

Review drawings and specifications and discuss any changes that are needed with appropriate parties on a regular basis.

Work with the construction team to identify any drawing addendums or bulletins.

Work with PIRHL's Scheduling Manager to develop project schedule tasks and duration times.

Work with PIRHL's Project Manager to finalize subcontractors and suppliers for projects, and ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.

Review work scopes and maintain copies of contracts and purchase orders.

Build relationships with Owner and/or Owner's representative to establish trust and confidence.

Conduct draw team meetings when the Project Manager is not available.

Update and monitor job cost and cost management reports and maintain a daily log report of all jobs.

Visit project site(s) on a regular basis to ensure quality and standards are met, offer assistance to field staff, and trouble shoot any subcontractor or vendor issues.

Attend cross-functional meetings with Development Project Manager and provide updates on project(s).

Ensure as built drawings are being maintained as work progresses and that they are turned in at the end of the project in accordance with the contract documents.

Work with all subcontractors on the project site and ensure collaboration among members.


High School Diploma or GED.

10+ years direct work experience in affordable housing construction and large scale multifamily construction is preferred.

Ability to read blue prints and other construction documents.

Experience in wood frame building preferred.

Ability to handle stress and conflict well, adapt to rapid change, and demonstrate flexibility and creativity in a fast paced environment.

Experience with senior living apartments.

Knowledge and experience obtaining final occupancy certificates.

Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to proactively manage potential project issues and concerns to a positive outcome.

Knowledge of specific lien laws that apply to each individual project location.

Exceptional communication skills; proven collaborator.
