Job Description:

We are seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our information technology team in our Independence, Ohio support center. This individual will be responsible for performing on-site desktop repair, and installations. Provide technical support in activities associated with the identification, prioritization and resolution of reported problems. Perform general maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs computer systems. Prepare progress reports for work performed.

Limited travel (0-10%) may be required for sales office visits to support existing applications, and perform business process reviews.

Must be able to work alone as well as in a team environment and have the desire learn new technologies and improve our current technology.

  • Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user Workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.

  • Ensure network connectivity of all workstations.

  • Administer all equipment, hardware and software upgrades.

  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.

  • Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.

  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.

  • Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.

  • Perform system backups and recovery.

  • Complete additional duties, tasks and/or projects assigned by your supervisor.

Technical Requirements:

  • Working technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including all Microsoft Windows releases.

  • Application support experience with Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Office 2, WebEx and enterprise anti-Virus packages.

  • Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.

  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.

  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.

  • Highly self-motivated and directed.

  • Keen attention to detail.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Experience with ShoreTel Phone Systems is a plus.

Experience Needed: Two to five years of hands-on experience with issue recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up.

Additional Experience Preferred:

  • Certification in Microsoft Systems Engineer (MCSE).
