Mechanical Engineer Siemens NX CAD
Lisle, IL
$80-85K +bonus

Prestigious Firm seeking Mechanical Engineers who has good experience with Siemens NX CAD for designing mechanical parts. We are seeking different Mechanical Engineers with all levels of experience to help with electro-mechanical component design (related to datacenter products). In this role, you will have the opportunity to leave a thumbprint on the current and next generation InterconnecT products.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform structural and thermal FEA simulations using commercial simulation tools. Perform empirical and analytical/numerical correlations.
  • Create mechanical design guides, design modifications, and modelling best practices to improve lifetime reliability of the InterconnecT.
  • Investigate and analyze design quality, structural integrity, and potentially thermal aspects of connectors using FEA tools. Analyze variation dependence and parametric optimization.
  • Perform simulation and testing and conduct correlation analysis.
  • Support design team by identifying and predicting potential design issues with current designs using FEA analysis and recommend design changes as needed and discover and invent new techniques and methods in modelling, design, and measurement.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related applied sciences, eg, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics.
  • 3+ years' hands-on experience using Siemens NX CAD in designing mechanical parts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' CAD experience, with at least 3 years' experience using NX.
  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering or in related applied sciences, eg, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in conducting stress-strain test vs. modelling correlation.
  • Experience performing Structural FEAs, preferred.
  • Experience conducting Thermal FEAs, preferred.
  • Experience working with HyperWorks/Abaqus CAE software, preferred.
  • Experience working with 3DCS Variation Analyst, preferred.
  • Established records of invention such as patent ownership, preferred.
  • Established records of technical paper authorship, preferred.
