Job Description:

Prestigious Fortune 500 Company is currently seeking a Director of Networking with a strong WAN technologies and leadership background in large enterprise environments. Candidate will be the leader of a network engineering team responsible for the design, deployment, support and stewardship of enterprise-class global networks. Responsibilities include direct leadership of highly technical team with oversight of standards, design and administration of global data center environments. Candidate will provide leadership for two or more diverse functional units including both management personnel and individual contributors, as well as hold responsibility for all cycles of network solutions delivery and management including strategic planning, solutions design, project delivery, problem management, process automation and financial stewardship.

Responsibilities:

Direct management of network architects and network engineers, resource hiring, performance management and associate compensation.

Design and delivery of large-scale globally-scoped network projects

Proactive allocation of resources, expense control and financial stewardship.

Strategic planning and definition of technical standards and solutions for the functional and business units supported and ensures the implementation of high-end, business-wide, critical strategy set by senior management.

Thought leadership in the areas of enterprise-class data center networks, emerging technologies (NFV, Containerization, Orchestration, NaaS, LAN overlays, SDx), system and network automation and driving efficiencies into the support and stewardship processes.

Understanding of system-level design and integration principles.

Allocates resources to support IT strategy.

Requires minimal direction from manager on hiring, firing, performance reviews and compensation administration.

Resolves routine issues.

Escalates serious issues to more senior management.

Provided technical thought leadership for areas of responsibility.

Qualifications:

8+ years of experience leading network engineering teams in a large corporate environment.

Demonstrates strong knowledge of network systems, technologies, practices and functional units.

Proven experience in the delivery of large scale, enterprise network projects

Demonstrates expertise driving operational efficiencies and cost management

Has expert knowledge of technical operations, policies and practices.

Has strong knowledge of the industry standards, trends and best practices.

Has experience with vendor management and service delivery
