Production Control Analyst

The Production Control Analyst is responsible for performing all batch scheduling activities for IT batch processing that update and maintain associated IT systems and services. This role reviews, designs and administers batch schedules for new systems and maintenance requests for existing systems. This role works closely with Solution Delivery developers and the IT Change Management team for setting up new requirements in the production environment. Performs troubleshooting and resolving common issues in the Enterprise Scheduler environment. Required to traverse diagnostic logs to specifically determine the source of problems when applicable.

Responsibilities of the Production Control Analyst:

  • Perform authorized database activities and modifications in the production enterprise scheduling system. Responsible for the accuracy and maintenance of the Production Scheduling Database, Calendars, Operational Schedules, and all related documentation.
  • Process authorized requests for special processing (eg, Physical Inventory, monthly system maintenance - PM Windows, etc.). Initiates user job/job schedule requests and rerun activities.
  • Utilize standardized change management practices to move new application code/scripts to production, using IT developed application tools such as UNIX/Linux Migrate, DelphiMigrate, VB Install.
  • Perform troubleshooting, research, escalation, or resolution of related incidents. Fields scheduling inquiries from the user community, ensures prompt accurate responses and timely follow-up.
  • Communicate new jobs/schedules to IT Operations, documents daily exceptions/special activities.

Requirements of the Production Control Analyst:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) preferred in the areas of Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering or other like disciplines.
  • Strong working knowledge of CA-AutoSys Enterprise Scheduling tool required;
  • Familiarity with Informatica PowerCenter 9.x or above highly preferred;
  • Experience in configuration/development/deployment in work load automation tools (WLA) or strong understanding of best practices and proper implementations of the AutoSys platform a plus;
  • 2+ years' experience administering a 24x7 AutoSys or comparable production environment required;
  • Candidate must possess good internal customer facing communication skills;
  • Knowledge of and experience with working through run books and Unix command line and basic Scripting (Preferred).
