The Sales Enablement Manager's responsibilities include collaborating with sales, marketing, product management, and operations to develop a systematic approach that helps teams prepare for all levels of customer interactions. The Sales Enablement Manager will be responsible for defining, developing, and training OverDrive's sales methodology and best practices, training, and communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with sales leadership and executive management to define sales support initiatives.

  • Design, develop, and implement ongoing sales training based on assessed needs of the department, including:

      • Sales Training (both basic sales skills and selling in our specific market environment(s)
      • Product and Services training (what it is and how to sell it effectively).
      • Sales Process Training (forecast management, pipeline management, territory management, etc.)
      • Sales Management Training (includes how to deliver coaching, sales management training, etc.)
      • Tools training (sforce.com, proposal tools, marketing tools, playbook, etc.)
      • Presentation training
  • Identify learning objectives based on OverDrive's business objectives, review current content and develop new course content, teaching methods, and instructional procedures for sales training.

  • Create written content to educate sales team and advance deals such as case studies, competitive information fact sheets, product collateral, and customer work.

  • Manage the sales enablement content repository and ensure that all information is easily and readily accessible.

  • Develop and maintain training records, and monitor and measure training and development program effectiveness based on new hire evaluations, quarterly surveys, retention statistics, and regular feedback from participants and leaders.

  • Show visible leadership in their execution of this role, both within Sales as well as the rest of the OverDrive organization, and help promote a positive atmosphere of high expectations, and help build operational bridges between different functions in the company (between sales, marketing, services, product, finance, etc.).
  • Manage projects assigned by Directors and CSMO.

  • Determine content adoption metrics and define sales enablement best practices.

  • Drive sales adoption by evangelizing OverDrive's sales messaging to generate sales awareness and provide ongoing analysis to ensure adoption of best practices and utilization of tools.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with Managers, Directors, and top sales specialists.

  • Help design, develop, and implement new hire training programs.

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver new hire training and partner with other supporting teams to help onboard and ramp new sales specialists.

  • Gather feedback from sales team on a regular basis to constantly improve support programs.

  • Develop and enhance tools and guidelines to support the sales process.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience preferred.

  • 5+ years of direct sales training experience required

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to think strategically and drill down in to the details.

  • Demonstrated project management skills as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Extensive experience in designing educational methodology and creating a learning environment for adult learners.

  • Knowledge and understanding of OverDrive's culture.

  • Capable of working in a fast-paced ever-changing environment and ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proficient in developing and leading change management methodologies and techniques.

  • Proven organizational skills.

  • Flexible and able to adapt and lead others through change with a positive attitude.

  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.

  • Must acquire and maintain knowledge of OverDrive's products and strategies, competitors and software/mobile devices.

  • Excellent presentation skills both live and via webinar.

  • Detail oriented, organized, enthusiastic and quick learner.

  • Positive, professional, customer-focused demeanor.

  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.
