Job Description:

Individuals in this role will be responsible for modelling minor to complex business problems, discovering business insights and identifying opportunities through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualization techniques. Proficient at integrating and preparing large, varied datasets, architecting specialized database and/or computing environments. Understands data elements, data models and working with structured or unstructured data sets. Has strong communication and presentation skills.

What You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Responsible for identifying new internal and external structured and unstructured data to improve predictive model, machine learning, and deep learning products
  • Develops descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analytical models and programs for small to medium sized business processes, develops robust data visualizations to produce actionable analytics
  • Formulates test hypotheses, applies medium to advanced statistical methods, analyzes results, and provides recommendations to address operational business questions
  • Present insights and recommendations to IT Management and business stakeholders
  • Communicates and shares decision making information for business partners across the business unit
  • Participates in small to medium size data analytics projects - may serve as the lead
  • Anticipates opportunities and can articulate recommendations and suggestions to business and IT
  • Maintains good relationships and broad general knowledge across multiple business and IT functions
  • Can mentor and guide team members
  • Leads and can manage small to medium size projects to develop and support quality enterprise software


  • Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience (preferably 7-12) in similar data science roles
  • Must have a Bachelor's/Master's Degree or Equivalent Training/Experience in Statistical Methods/Data Science
  • Strong background in advanced statistical and data science required
  • Experience with at least one statistical software solution (eg, SAS) required
  • Experience with advanced analytics practices such as predictive maintenance, machine learning, deep learning, etc. required
  • Knowledge of SQL, JavaScript, HTML, Python, R
  • Knowledge of Data Science IDE's (R Studio, Alteryx, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of A/B and MVT testing
  • Ability to conceptualize and deliver a strategic agenda for building data science capabilities required
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills required
  • Oil & Gas Industry Experience Preferred.
