Senior Java Developer
$110-125K
McLean, VA

As senior member of the IT team, the Individual would independently lead the solution delivery of multiple projects. The individual could champion of technology and tools changes/improvements that improves delivery processes and be a role model and technical mentor to the junior and mid-level developers, work alongside of highly collaborative, open minded, technology savvy and dedicated members. Our development team members are expected to work under limited direction and independently determine and develop approaches to solutions.

Responsibilities include:

Lead independently whole technical delivery from solution to deployment, contributing to the success of project(s).

Understand Business needs and processes; identify solutions, present and guide project team/sponsors in identifying best solution.

Participate in Requirements Analysis; design Applications based on System Requirements and Architecture

Champion development efforts and oversee development projects

Contribute to the enhancement of department application development/delivery standards, tools and processes.

Learn new technologies and tools, promote top code quality by leading design and code reviews, and solve challenging issues related to performance tuning and scalability.

Provide production and operations support that includes evaluate defects, investigate cause and come up with solutions to address defects and data movement issues

Support the solutions to integrate with multiple downstream systems

Qualifications

Typically has 5-7 years of relevant IT related experience in design and development of web applications using Java and XML

Experience in all aspects of system development life cycle methodologies including agile development/Front End/Integration/Build

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Degree or equivalent experience; advanced studies/degree preferred

Must be able to mentor and provide guidance to team members.

Strive to constantly improve the application development processes and tools.

Experience with Service Now or other ticketing systems

Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to analyze system functionality with customer and resolve production issues.

Hands on experience in UML design tools.

Demonstrated delivery of multiple complex projects.

XML experience, MISMO experience

Technical project coordinator experience. Ability to work independently on multiple projects.

Experienced Agile team member (Agile Development) using a Scrum methodology.

Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of business processes and comprehensive understanding of application architecture and interfaces while exhibiting a solid working knowledge of software development methodology and structured analysis, process redesign.

Preferred Skills

Proactive in nature with customer satisfaction as primary goal.

Prior company experience.

Strong ability to prioritize and manage assignments with varying timelines.

Experience in the financial services industry; Mortgage experience.

Ability to work well under pressure, some tight deadlines and with ambiguity on some projects.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines.

Demonstrated partnership with business clients and value proposition of projects/portfolio.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and Sr. management on both the business and IT sides.
